The Mathematics and Statistics Department is the home of the Center for Mathematics Education and the Mathematics Education Project. The Center for Mathematics Education is headed by Roger Verhey and has been a great success for many years. The Mathematics Education Project is headed by Professor Rheta Rubenstein and addresses the need for improved mathematics courses for future elementary teachers.
