Writing Across Disciplines

Teaching & Writing brown bags are designed to foster cross-disciplinary conversations about any and all issues of interest to faculty participants such as:

  • using writing to support students’ learning of disciplinary content material
  • ways to approach the assessment and grading of student writing
  • methods for managing the “paper load”
  • ways to capitalize on the support services offered by the UM-D Writing Center

During the winter 2009 term Teaching & Writing brown bags will take place on the third Wednesday of each month — February 18, March 18 and April 15 — from 11:30-12:45 in 3019 CASL Bldg. During future terms brown-bag meetings will focus on one issue of special concern to faculty participants.
