You should be sure these things are done...
- Check our Technical Requirements: Be sure that you have the required technology. We update our required technology specifications yearly to reflect advances in the technology of our courses.
- Align Email Address: If this is your first online course, be sure that your email address and CTools are aligned, following these directions, so that you will receive email from the instructor.
- Login to CTools and check your course site for syllabus, test dates, announcements, and any other pertinent information. If you are having difficulty logging in to your CTools site, try the CTools Help page.
- Order Your Textbooks: Order textbooks online through the UMD Bookstore or visit the Bookstore on campus to purchase textbooks. Any materials not available from the bookstore will either be available through the CTools site or through other means specified in the syllabus for the course.
- Go to Orientation: Check for any orientation that is planned. They will be listed on our Orientation page. Some courses have mandatory orientations while others have orientations that are suggested and others have no orientation.
- Test Proctors: If you are a distant student, find a proctor, and notify CASL Online of who that will be and how they may be reached. If you are an on-campus student, read the testing rules, if you will be taking a test in the CASL Distance Learning Office.
