One of the most important elements of American society is its health care system. A vast and complex enterprise, it provides vital services to the entire population and is one of the largest employers in the country. The Program in Health Policy Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn provides interdisciplinary perspectives on health policy and the healthcare system to students interested in the various health professions. A major or minor in HPS is essential preparation for those students who wish to work in the healthcare industry or who plan to pursue graduate study in medicine, pharmacy, public health, or nursing.
I like the small class sizes and the relationships you can form with fellow students and the professors. The professors are very helpful, and I get to know several of my classmates well. (student Allison Carroll)
