The HPS major includes 29 credit hours of core courses plus 12 hours in one of three specialized tracks in Health Administration, Health Planning, or Health Behavior and Education, or in an Individualized Track.
The HPS core courses are HPS 350, 364, 401, 402, 410, 440, 456; HPS 451 or ECON 355; ANTH 430; PHIL 442.
A Minor in HPS may be obtained by taking 15 credit hours from the HPS core courses.
Students with an Associate Degree in Applied Science from community college Allied Health programs such as nursing (RN), health information technology, respiratory therapy assistant, radiography technician, surgical technology, physical therapist assistant, pharmacy technician, and diagnostic medical sonographer may be able to transfer in 62 credit hours of allied health and nursing courses towards the Health Policy Studies Bachelor's Degree Program.

Diversity requirement is not an extra course and may be fulfilled by one of many different UM-Dearborn courses from a list.
(HPS requires Econ 201, Principles of Macroeconomics; any 100 or 200 philosophy course, especially Phil 240, Ethics; and Soc 200, Intro or Soc 201, Social Problems; all of which should be taken as Distribution requirements. The 39-41 hours is for HPS majors only).

2+2 Programs with Community College Allied Health Programs
Graduates with Associates of Applied Science from community college Allied Health programs such as nursing (RN), health information technology, respiratory therapy assistant, radiography technician, surgical technology, physical therapist assistant, pharmacy technician, and diagnostic medical sonographer may be able to transfer in 62 credit hours of allied health and nursing courses to the Health Policy Studies Bachelor's Degree (BA) Program. Students wishing to enter UM-Dearborn would have to meet the 2.5 cumulative GPA grade point average and other qualifications as any other community college graduate seeking admission.
