All students majoring in HPS take HPS 402, the Health Policy Studies Senior Seminar, which focuses on current issues and practical problems in health care organization, delivery, and financing. The Seminar is taught primarily by individuals responsible for administering or advising health care institutions in Southeast Michigan.
Opportunities to conduct independent research or study under the direction of an HPS faculty member are available in HPS’s two Independent Study courses, HPS 498 and 499. Students interested in such opportunities should consult with an HPS faculty member or the program director.
Health Policy Studies students frequently present the results of their research at undergraduate research conferences like Meeting of Minds and the Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum, and even at professional meetings.
