Film Studies has been designed as an interdisciplinary program, the minor provides an intellectually challenging and cross-culturally oriented approach to the study of cinema.
Students Will:
- Explore the unique medium of film as it has developed in the 20th Century.
- Understand the intellectual and artistic connections between cinema, literature, painting, photography, and theater.
- Learn to use the specialized vocabulary of Film Studies as it has developed in the academic context and the film industry.
- Gain an understanding of other cultures besides their own cultural groups.
- Become critical readers and discerning consumers of the visual medium.
