Communication can be thought of as the way we construct knowledge and information through both interpersonal and technologically mediated interaction. It can also be thought of as the continual process through which we negotiate meaning. In addition, the study of communication involves exploration of the role of media institutions, technologies, and texts and their impacts on everyday life. Communication phenomena can be analyzed at a variety of levels, from the intrapersonal to the societal and global levels, using a number of methodologies.
