Attention Student Writers!
The University of Michigan – Dearborn
Writing Awards 2008
to promote and recognize excellence
in writing among undergraduates
will be made in the following categories:
Poetry -- Fiction
Researched Writing -- Creative Non-fiction
Writing & Multiple Media -- Writing in the Public Sphere
First-Year Writing
Honors Writing
Awards made possible by the Office of the Provost
and the UM—Dearborn Annual Funding Program.
Awards will be made as combination of tuition credit
(applied to Summer or Fall 2008) and cash.
Eight First Place Awards: $500 each
Eight Second Place Awards: $250 each
Eight Third Place Awards: $125 each
An Additional $250 from the Eamonn Long Scholarship Fund will be awarded to the First Place Poetry winner.
Manuscripts must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008 in the Writing Program Office, 3018 CASL Building. Winners will be notified by June 30, 2008.
