The Writing Program offers a range of courses and other academic support not only to CASL students but also to undergraduate and graduate students across the university. Among other projects and initiatives, the Writing Program oversees the UM-D Writing Center, the campus Writing Awards competition, and the Composition Placement Examination. One important aspect of the Program’s work is helping to bring together faculty from across the disciplines to share scholarship and innovative teaching approaches for improving students’ abilities with written communication and academic research.
