Lee Brooks, Lecturer, published poems in the newest issue of Bear River Review. Professor Brooks also won the Moth StorySLAM in Detroit last year, earning a spot to perform in Moth Michigan’s GrandSLAM.
William DeGenaro, Associate Professor, has been named to a three-year term as Director of the Writing Program. Professor DeGenaro presented his paper “Investigating Jihadi Tourism” at the Rhetoric Society of America Conference in Philadephia in May, 2012.
P.F. Potvin, Lecturer, has received a grant from the Integrated Learning and Community Partnership Office for his academic service learning class. Professor Potvin was also interviewed and featured on the cover of Poets & Artists Magazine.
Tija Spitsberg, Lecturer, has been named to a three-year term as Director of the Writing Center
Kristi Stewart, Lecturer, presented a paper—“Sentences in Detroit: Utilizing Student Narratives as Pathways to Agency”—at the Storytelling: Global Reflections on Narrative Conference in Prague in May, 2012. Professor Stewart also received a King-Chavez-Park Future Faculty Fellowship in the School of Education.
Andrew Wright, Lecturer, has poetry forthcoming in the next issue of Whirlwind Review.
