Each year 20 new SOAR students are admitted to the university for the fall term. Admission is selective. To be considered for admission, applicants must:
- Meet basic requirements of a high school diploma, minimum 460 GED score, or 2.4 transferrable college credit GPA
- Fill out the CASL SOAR application form
- Submit a letter of recommendation from their referring agency/organization
- Send official transcripts from: colleges, high school or GED testing center
- Complete the FAFSA
- Have no student loans in default
- Attend an official intake interview with the SOAR Director
- Be pursuing a first bachelor’s degree
- Understand that completing the application process does not guarantee admission
SOAR Student Requirements
Before classes begin in the fall, newly admitted SOAR students:
- Take the Math and English placement exams prior to registering for classes
- Meet one-on-one with an assigned advisor prior to registering for classes
- Attend a specialized SOAR orientation
- Know they are limited to seven credits per semester their first full academic year
