Criminal Justice Internship

Criminal Justice Studies Internships are designed to provide field experience for Criminal Justice majors. Actual field experience will provide students with valuable tools to help them achieve their goals and produce humane leaders with the technical skills and social and ethical sensitivity needed to succeed in their chosen field. The Criminal Justice Studies Internship has a seminar component. The seminar helps students make informed decisions relative to their future career in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice related fields. Both the internship and seminar provide opportunities for students to personalize their learning experience. Students are supervised by a faculty advisor.

Requirements

In order to be a CRJ Intern, the student must be a CRJ major with a 2.0 GPA and upper class academic standing. The Internship provides supervised field experience in a variety of occupational agencies focusing on a criminal justice related field. Field placement sites are
appropriate to the student's career goals. Each student intern spends a minimum of 80 hours on site and attends a weekly seminar. Students may elect to take the course for 3 - 6 credit hours.
