CASL alumnus Anthony Allegrina honored as distinguished volunteer

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Detroit Chapter recognized CASL alumnus Anthony Allegrina (BA, history, 1982) as a Distinguished Volunteer at its Annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) dinner, November 13, 2013.

Distinguished Volunteers are the advocates, leaders, and mentors whose passion for their respective causes inspires philanthropic action and community involvement in southeast Michigan. Anthony Allegrina is best described as “dedicated.” Anthony has been an active and consistent volunteer for UM-Dearborn for the past 30 years. He has served in numerous capacities for the CASL Alumni Affiliate, as a member of the Alumni Society Board of Governors, and as a member of the Alumni Society Task Force. As an alumni ambassador, Anthony has assisted with numerous student recruitment events, served as a member of a CASL Dean Search Committee, and participated as a career mentor. Anthony has helped award student scholarships and has planned and participated in fundraisers to benefit the scholarship funds.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of Greater Detroit, a membership resource utilized by fundraising andnonprofit professionals throughout southeastern Michigan, seeks to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals, to preserve and enhance philanthropy and volunteerism, and to promote the highest ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
