The African and African American Studies Program invites you to attend two events in honor of Black History Month.
Tuesday, February 19 -- "Amandla: Revolution in Four-Part Harmony"
6:00 p.m., 1030 CASL Building
Hugh Masekela and other famous South African musicians, along with movement activists, reflect upon the role of music in the South African struggle to overthrow apartheid.
South African students at UM-Dearborn invited to lead the discussion following the film.
Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, February 20 -- "Marion Hayden and In the Tradition: Music of the African American Freedom Movement!"
6:00 p.m., Kochoff Hall, University Center
Famous jazz bassist and composer, Marion Hayden, will team with the popular local band, In the Tradition, to perform and comment upon the significance of the music associated with African Americans' long fight for liberation in the U.S. A program you won't want to miss!
Artists’ reception and refreshments will follow the program.
