Annual CASL food drive helps local charitable agencies

The annual College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL) food drive is a friendly competition between the departments and programs in CASL to collect items during the month of December to donate to a local charitable agency.  The department or program collecting the most items wins their choice of either breakfast or lunch with Dean Jerold Hale.

This year, CASL departments and programs collected a total of 1,125 items, and on December 20,  these items were delivered by CASL staff members to Gleaners and the Dearborn Animal Shelter.  The winner of this year's competition is CASL Advising & Student Records who collected a total of 339 items.

The CASL Staff Holiday Craft Day is an annual event where staff can make-and-take or make-and-donate items to a specific charity.  This year the CASL staff made 15 cat comforters.  The cat comforters were also delivered to the Dearborn Animal Shelter along with the with the pet food donations from CASL's Annual Food Drive.
