Virtually every CASL program offers students the opportunity to engage in independent study or research under the direction of a faculty member. Opportunities for developing leadership skills or becoming engaged in the community in an academic context are also prevalent.
Meeting of Minds: The annual undergraduate research conference involving students from UM-Dearborn, UM-Flint, and Oakland University, is held annually in May since 1993.
Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum: Poster presentations by students from the three University of Michigan campuses, Wayne State University, and Michigan State University, held annually at the State Capitol in Lansing.
Women in Learning and Leadership: An academic program connecting coursework with community leadership for undergraduate women.
