Film Studies is an interdisciplinary program providing an intellectually challenging and cross-cultural approach to the study of cinema. The program traces the development of film and the film industry on a global scale since the early twentieth century, provides students with the specialized vocabulary of film-making and film criticism, and emphasizes the intellectual and artistic connections between cinema, literature, painting, photography, and theater.
