CASL Arab American Studies aims to produce cutting-edge scholarship that lies at the intersection of Arab/Middle East/Global South Studies, American Studies, Race/Ethnic Studies, and Critical Cultural Studies.
The study of Armenia and the Armenians is one way of satisfying this vital contemporary interest. It gives us an opportunity to explore world history and culture using Armenia as a focal point, just as the British Empire--which once covered the globe--was used in the 1950s as a vehicle for the study of Modern World history or the Roman Empire for the study of ancient history.
A sound knowledge of economics has become increasingly important for understanding of the contemporary world and its problems. For concentrators in economics a well-balanced offering of courses is designed to equip the student with an understanding of basic economic relationships, the essential tools of economic analysis, and a store of factual knowledge.
The Center for Mathematics Education is dedicated to improving the quality of preparation for prospective teachers and making continuous professional development available to current teachers. Thanks to the efforts of faculty and staff, the center is meeting its goal of being a primary resource center for teachers and schools, and creating exemplary models of teacher education.
The Center for the Study of Automotive Heritage is intended to be a locus of research and an active site for labor, business and public policy discussions about the history of the automobile and the automotive industry.
College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters at the University of Michigan-Dearborn established a Center for the Study of Religion and Society. This innovative and unique Center was designed to serve a number of purposes.
