Archival Materials on Display
Original manuscripts, rare print materials, and photographs from the Center for Arab American Studies’ archives will be on display in the Center from October 29 to November 6, 2007. These museum-quality materials document turn-of-the-twentieth century immigration to the U.S. from the region encompassing the present nation-states of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel/occupied Palestine. The display includes Ottoman identity papers, diaries, letters, pictures, and rare books and pamphlets from the period 1888-1955.
