Chemistry Minor
Recognition of a Minor in Chemistry
A student may apply for recognition of a minor in chemistry. The completion of 12 credit hours in chemistry courses numbered 300 is needed to receive this minor. Chemistry concentrators must complete at least 6 credit hours of courses numbered 300 or above offered in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics or Statistics. The 6 credit hours need not be from a single discipline. Courses which do not carry concentration credit within a discipline (e.g. Biol 340, Biol 342, Math 363, Math 385, Math 386 and Math 387) will not satisfy the cognate requirement in chemistry. Cross-listed chemistry courses will be counted toward chemistry elective credit if taken as a chemistry course, but will be counted toward cognate credit if taken under the cross-listed name.
