Information for Students
How to find an internship
Students who would like to take Humanities or History 485 should apply at least one month before the beginning of the next term. We consult with students about their options one on one. No appointment is necessary, and we encourage students to stop by the office at any time. Once we match you to an organization, we send out your resume. Students will receive a call from the organization to schedule an interview. Once a decision is made, students need to obtain an registration slip from our office to register for the internship.
What an organization should expect of students
Students applying for internships are juniors or seniors with a minimum grade point average of 2.5. They have expressed interest in the work of a particular organization.
An organization should expect students to contribute to daily functions, as well as to special projects.
Interns should have strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to the culture of the workplace. Students should take initiative on the job, accept direction and criticism and comply with the rules and regulations of the workplace.
